VIP Tours
An Amazing Experience…
Nearly every Saturday, from March until the end of October, the Zoo Society schedules VIP tours that take visitors behind-the-scenes with some of the Zoo’s most popular animals. We limit the number of people participating in these tours to allow everyone time to talk to the keepers and, in some cases, to feed the animals.
Our VIP tours are arranged to be exciting, fun, and educational, but they are also structured to provide for the safety of our visitors and animals. The Zoo’s Animal Division has established guidelines that are specific to each tour. These guidelines limit the number of people who may participate in a given tour and specify how old a child must be to participate in a tour.
Click on either of the buttons below to find a complete listing of our VIP Tours along with restrictions on these tours.
The price listed for each tour is the price per person to participate in a tour.

Private Behind the Scenes Tours
The Zoo Society will work with individuals to arrange private VIP tours that replicate any of the public tours. Private tours are scheduled on a date requested by the buyer. Up to six people, all designated by the buyer, may attend a private tour.
Except for the Private Meet and Feed the Lemur VIP Tour, all VIP tour prices range from $535 (for North Carolina Zoo Society members) to $595 (for non-members). Please note that 84 to 90 percent of each tour’s cost qualifies as a tax-deductible donation to the North Carolina Zoo Society, the private 501(c)3 that raises money for the Zoo. Further, all non-member tour prices provide the buyer with a one-year Family Membership to the NC Zoo Society. The membership provides free admission to the Zoo and allows a member to purchase discounted admission tickets for guests he or she brings into the Zoo. Other member benefits are posted here.
We limit the size of private tours to no more than two people for the Lemur tour. The remaining tours admit six guests only. Additional guests may be added to some for the tour for an added fee. A paying adult must accompany any child younger than 16. The price listed is per tour and covers six people.
